RACE 11
$50K Optional Claiming / N1X • 1 1/16 Miles Turf
Frank’s Matrix
#1 Midnight Horizon — B: Likely needed her first U.S. start. She showed late interest sprinting and now stretches out, but J.J. Hernandez moves elsewhere and this is a solid group.
#2 Kikuride — C: J.J. Hernandez returns to a mare he has won with before, but she now faces open company after showing little punch against similar foes last time.
#3 Lady in Paris — A: Ran too well to lose in her U.S. debut, closing strongly into a modest pace and missing by a head. She appears to have more quality and upside than most of these.
#4 Upcharge — C: Comes off a narrow win against starter company, but this is a much tougher assignment and regression is possible.
#5 Miso Phansy — C: Has back class and nearly won a Grade 3 last year, but her latest race was slow and she may need a career-best effort.
#7 America’s Mark — C: Lightly raced, consistent and adding blinkers, but she is a Cal-bred who must improve against open company.
#8 Bette Davis Eyes — A: Her last sprint looked like a prep after a long layoff. She now stretches out for Drysdale and offers real longshot appeal.
#9 Yoga Master — C: Owns route form overseas, but her latest race was disappointing and Ayuso chooses another runner.
#10 Take Another Card — B: Rarely runs a bad race but has lost several close decisions. The outside post and 7/2 morning line are concerns.
#11 Quantum Innergy — X: Honest late runner, but she has not yet produced a race fast enough to win at this level.

Ciaran’s Notes
#1 Midnight Horizon: Julien rides for Blacker. The connections have been cold, and J.J. Hernandez rode the U.S. debut.
#2 Kikuride: J.J. Hernandez has ridden nearly every race and knows her well. She is often right there at the finish.
#3 Lady in Paris: Worked with Gold Phoenix and held her own. She just missed last time and is a single on one of Ciaran’s tickets.
#4 Upcharge: Won last time by a head and moves up in class. Use somewhere on wider tickets.
#5 Miso Phansy: Won last time and is difficult to dismiss completely.
#7 America’s Mark: Blinkers go on, but Ciaran views her mainly as a jockey-based inclusion.
#8 Bette Davis Eyes: Second start off the layoff after shipping from a top European track. Longshot-ticket candidate.
#9 Yoga Master: Not impossible, but Ciaran prefers others.
#10 Take Another Card: Owns the top power rating and is the likely CAW horse. Rispoli takes over after Fresu chose Lady in Paris.
#11 Quantum Innergy: Tiago rides for Mullins, a productive combination. She has a chance, but others are preferred.
