Three tracks.
Ciaran has a few words.
Several thousand.

Premier degenerates,
Today we’re covering Laurel, Churchill and Gulfstream: 27 races across three tracks.
That’s a full day of handicapping, occasional shouting, and explaining to your family why you’ve been watching “the last race” since lunchtime.
Frank’s idea of narrowing a ticket is reducing the font size. We asked Ciaran for a quick overview.
He started with the sire, moved on to the dam, and is currently interviewing the man who planted the turf.
Fortunately, we have the Race IQ cards and Frank’s newly added Churchill $3 Late Pick 3 Matrix to bring some structure to this traveling stewards’ inquiry.
Here are a few places to start.
|
LAUREL PARK · Put a Rock On It
Race 6 — #7 Put a Rock On It · 5/2 ML
Leads the Race IQ projection in this 1⅛-mile turf race. The card flags a class drop and limited established early speed.
#5 Juniper Juice (6/1) and #1 Happy This Day (3/1) are the next two.
Ciaran doesn’t just handicap turf. He develops a personal relationship with it.
Ask him for one horse and you’ll get a pace scenario, three alternatives, and a character reference for the grass.
Race 8 — #1 Unbeatable · Even money ML
Tops the finale ahead of #7 Daring Venture and #3 Marvelous Mo.
Unbeatable is also what Ciaran calls his selection immediately before delivering a 12-minute explanation of how it can get beaten.
|
CHURCHILL DOWNS · Take Aim
Race 5 — #1 Silver Sniper · 3/1 ML
Our Race IQ leader, with #9 Valiant Humor (8/1) second and #6 Good Mojo (6/1) third.
The card projects a contested pace, so the trip matters.
Silver Sniper is the approach we’re after. Frank generally prefers firing at the entire field and claiming he was aiming at the winner.
Ciaran can explain a six-furlong sprint in the time it takes to run the Kentucky Derby twice.
Price watch: Race 2 — #1 Zimomo · 15/1 ML
Ranked second behind #9 King Crusher (4/1), with a class drop flagged in the card.
That’s a price worth reviewing before automatically swallowing the chalk.

FRANK’S BACK · CHURCHILL DOWNS
The Modified Matrix
$3 Late Pick 3 · Races 8–10
Frank was supposed to be resting. Then someone said “low takeout” and he sat bolt upright.
We’ve cancelled the ambulance and ordered him a Racing Form.
He’s easing back in with his Modified Matrix for Churchill’s all-dirt Friday card.
These are Frank’s selections and grades. The full Race IQ orders remain below, so you can compare both opinions.

|
Race 8 · The spread leg
A $30,000 starter allowance/N3L at six furlongs on dirt.
Frank sees plenty of similar contenders and wants coverage. His three A’s:
#4 Keep On Moving · 6/1 ML · A
Claimed for $50,000 in June and freshened for the new barn.
Frank likes the return while protected and the cutback from seven furlongs after a third-place finish at this level two starts ago.
#10 Capital Connection · 5/1 ML · A
Three straight defeats at the condition are a concern, but Frank finds excuses:
traffic, a sloppy/sealed track, then a pace trip over a surface favoring closers.
He thinks this one can do better.
#3 Tiz Mary’s Comet · 7/2 ML · A
Tactical speed, the connections and Jose Ortiz make him hard to leave out.
Frank’s caution: a three-year-old facing older horses on a tougher circuit, with the possibility of being overbet.
|
Race 9 · Frank plants his flag
#7 Being Myself · 5/2 ML · A
In this mile dirt allowance/optional claimer for fillies and mares, Frank prefers the return to the track where she cleared her N1X condition last year.
Her last two races came on sloppy/sealed dirt and turf.
He notes a gap in the workouts, but likes the sharpness of the two most recent works.
This is his preferred place to single and buy more coverage in Race 8.
If you want alternatives, his B’s are #6, #4 and #3.
Ciaran also offered to plant a flag, but first requested the soil report.
|
Race 10 · The Baffert question
#7 One More Time · 5/2 ML · A
The four-year-old drops from much tougher maiden special weights into a
$30,000 maiden claimer at 1 1/16 miles on dirt.
Frank sees a potential single, while noting the uncertainty that comes with this substantial drop.
The listed morning line is 5/2; Frank expects him to be bet much shorter.
If you single Being Myself in Race 9 and want protection here, Frank’s B’s are #3, #9 and #10.
His verdict on the favorite: “He either wins by a city block or calls an Uber to get back to the barn!”
|
How Frank is approaching the sequence
Frank is not posting specific Potential Wagers today.
His suggested combinations to consider, according to your budget, are
A/A/A, B/A/A, A/B/A and A/A/B, in Race 8 → Race 9 → Race 10 order.
Frank vs. Race IQ:
Race 8 has the same three horses in his A group and Race IQ’s top three, in a different order.
Race 9 is the key difference: Frank favors #7 Being Myself;
Race IQ ranks #6 White Rocks first and #7 second.
Both favor #7 One More Time in Race 10.
The full Matrix and Ciaran’s Notes will return as the track and show plans come together.

GULFSTREAM PARK · Lady First, Guinness Last
Race 1 — #7 My Perfect Lady · 4/1 ML
Leads the opener ahead of #4 Aerialist (8/1) and #8 Fire On the Wire (6/1).
The projection calls for a contested pace.
My Perfect Lady followed by Aerialist sounds like Frank explaining his ticket after the first selection loses:
a promising start followed by increasingly desperate acrobatics.
Race 8 — #2 Frida · 5/1 ML
Race IQ puts her ahead of #4 Coqueta Blue (9/5) and #1 Sweet Agenda (5/2).
A useful race to compare our order with the board.
And in Race 9, #4 Sir Guinness (6/1) ranks third behind
#2 Shinyhappygroovy and #3 Unpredictable.
A horse called Sir Guinness running on grass? To Ciaran, that’s a handwritten invitation.
He’ll have the pedigree memorized and a framed photo on the mantelpiece by post time.
If it loses, expect a stewards’ inquiry conducted entirely from his kitchen.
|
A Little Price With Your Friday
Churchill R2 — #1 Zimomo · 15/1 ML: second in the projection.
Churchill R10 — #11 It’s Final · 12/1 ML: third in the projection.
Laurel R6 — #8 Arise My Love · 15/1 ML: fourth in the projection.
These are horses to examine at a price. Ciaran loves a price: at 15/1, he can find three angles and a promising cousin.
At 6/5, suddenly the same horse has “questions to answer.”
Frank’s value strategy is finding a horse he hasn’t already bet.

MARK’S ENSIGHT
“I asked Ciaran for a single. He sent a trilogy.”

Start with your day’s budget, then choose the wagers you actually want to play.
Three tracks provide options; they do not require you to acquire a financial interest in every horse on the Eastern Seaboard.
And if Ciaran says “just one more thing,” check that your parking meter has another hour.
Thanks for being Premier members and supporting Double Trouble Live.
You make the work possible. Frank makes the tickets longer.
Ciaran makes the explanation a separate calendar event.
Let’s find a few winners.
