Fools Rush In. Naturally, we’re already here.
Four free races. A $1,260 Pick 5 story. Frank is already taking credit.

Good morning, Trouble Makers—
Mark here. We’ve moved the operation to Churchill Downs for Thursday, September 10.
After 14 races at Kentucky Downs, we’re down to eight. Frank calls that work-life balance. Ciaran calls it “a much more reasonable interruption to the afternoon.”
Frank says he’s feeling better after his bout of Seconditis. Unfortunately, “feeling better” is also how he describes his horse at the eighth pole, shortly before something with a different saddlecloth ruins his afternoon.
His proposed treatment is to move every finish line one more jump. Churchill has referred him to a specialist. The specialist is a bartender.

KENTUCKY DOWNS • HAY AI IN DEVELOPMENT
$121.50 in. $1,260 back.
Our $121.50 Kentucky Downs Pick 5 ticket paid $1,260, using something we’ve uncovered while developing Hay AI.
We’re seeing winners land among Hay AI’s top three selections at a high rate in our early results. That’s a pattern we’re paying close attention to as we continue developing the system—and it helped shape this winning ticket.
The lesson we’re exploring: give the second- and third-ranked horses a proper look when building a ticket. The top three can be a useful starting point for deciding where to keep coverage and where to narrow.
Frank heard “top three” and immediately claimed his Seconditis was advanced data science. Ciaran has asked whether Hay AI can turn $121.50 into $1,260 at the bar. We’ve explained that’s usually how he does it in reverse.
Hay AI is still in development. We’ll keep tracking how often the winner appears in its top three and share more as the results build.

Ciaran has finally checked in. He’s trying to order Guinness in a mint julep cup because he wants to “respect the local customs.”
We asked whether he’d studied the Churchill dirt form. He said, “I’ve been examining the surface all morning.” Turns out he’d dropped his debit card under the bar.
He’s also announced that he’s cutting back to one strong opinion per race. We’re awaiting clarification on whether that includes the four opinions he gives after the replay.
Churchill has the Twin Spires. Ciaran says one represents win and the other place. Frank has already requested a room in the second one.

The card, by the numbers
8 RACES |
76 ENTRIES |
100% DIRT RACING |
The supplied card has six 6-furlong sprints, two routes and $751,000 in listed purses, before scratches.
That’s serious money. Ciaran asked if the purse was something he could borrow until Friday.
|
Where the unknowns live
Race 4 has eight first-time starters in an 11-horse field. Race 6 has 11 first-time starters out of 12. Those are two races where the paddock, the betting and late information deserve attention.
With that many newcomers, Ciaran says experience is overrated. A bold position from a man who has been explaining losing photos for decades.
The Animator recommends SPREAD across the card. Use the rankings to structure your opinions and decide where you want coverage. Even the higher-confidence races come with company.

Two from your free preview
Race 3 — #5 Elewene, 8/5. The Animator’s highest-confidence race on this card. Elewene leads #1 Cruisin in Harmony and #6 Sharpie Girl. Coverage is still recommended. “Cruisin in Harmony” is also what we call the show before Frank and Ciaran turn their microphones on.
Race 4 — #6 Flip Flop Freak, 4/1. Leads the projection, followed by #8 Runnin Out of Time. With eight firsters, uncertainty is substantial. Ciaran has changed his mind three times while reading this paragraph and would like royalties for the horse’s name.
|
Two free price candidates
R1: #5 Kabin Eight — 12/1. Fifth in the projection.
R2: #3 Mom’s Cheesecake — 12/1. Fourth in the projection.
Ciaran’s only question about Mom’s Cheesecake is whether it comes with a dessert fork.
These are lower-ranked price candidates from the Animator. Assess their chances against the live odds and your coverage budget.

More than a list of horses
Premier members can put the full Race IQ card to work with My Bet Card. Set your daily budget, choose your horses and build your day’s wagering plan.
A plan is particularly useful when Ciaran announces, “I’m adding just one more.” That sentence has previously required a second sheet of paper.

Selections and card figures come from the September 10 Race Animator. Check scratches, final fields and live odds before playing. Morning lines can change substantially by post time.
Thanks for being on our free list. We appreciate everyone who reads along, joins in and somehow continues to trust an operation where “Fools Rush In” doubles as the company mission statement.
Keep an eye on our YouTube channel for the next show. Ciaran has promised to arrive prepared. We’ve asked him to specify prepared for what.

MARK’S ENSIGHT
“Ciaran says he’s a man of few words. Unfortunately, he uses all of them after the horse loses.”
