The #4 winked at me - a lock! Race 7 - 3 - Mark is Great - duh! FRANK S MODIFIED MATRIX FOR DTL PAID MEMBERS ONLY Friday, Ju ly 3, 2026: Here are s elect MATRIX notes for today s Friday Double Trouble Live show, starting at 12 : 45 p.m./PDT and covering the Late Pick 5 ( R 7 - R1 1 ) at Saratoga for their Opening Day! NOTE: This is still a work in progress, trying to give our members unique info. If anyone has suggest ions or comments, please email me directly at ScatoniRacing@gmail.com . Let s ha ve a great summer together! Race 7 : N1X contested at 7 F on the main track This is a pretty tough race with some promising 3yos going up against older, proven horses. Lind a Rice has two in here, but #5 FORT NELSON (6/1) looks like the value play to me. He s been freshen ed up after giving up t he ghost in a 9 - furlong race last time. Jose Ortiz takes the call. #3 HIT THE POST (7/2) is a horse I typically love to beat: a NY - bred facing o pen foes off a questionable monster speed figure earned on a s peed - favo ring track . But I expect him to be on the engine early again , and he loves Saratoga. Those are my A s, but if you can spread here, do so because I have a few horses I m going to plant a flag with in other races . Race 8 : $ 1 50K W ild Applause for 3YO Fillies going 8F on Inn er Turf If you re spreading in Leg 1, #6 S MEXY (IRE) (7/2) definitely has single potential in here. She had no c hance i n the Sanibel Island in her first U.S. start, having to break from the 10 - hole in a 7.5 - furlong turf affair at Gulfstream Park and yet she still ran really well. She improved in her next start, but that third - place run in the Pennsylvania Oaks really looked like a prep for this. The sneaky play in here is #1 SCRATCH IT (12/1) , who has done nothing wrong in four turf starts, but because her speed figures are low, she might get i gnored . She should trip out perfectly ; she has class; and she has plenty of room to improve. NOTE: There are plenty of others who can win this race, and I ex pect most will spread whi ch is why I like #6 SMEXY (IRE) ( 7/2) as a good single in here. Race 9 : $ 20 0K Schuylerville for 2YO F illes going 6F on the m ain track This is a tough race because these babies are lightly raced, and several of them won with little resistance in their limited starts. # 8 LUMINOUS BEAUTY ( 3/1 ) , however, has shown an ab ility to sit just off the speed, so she should get a great stalking trip under Prat, with nary a straw in her path. #4 MADELEINE SWANN ( 8 / 1) had to beat only three other foes in her deb ut at Monmouth, so I don t give much stock to that race but I also think that it was probably just a paid workout for a horse who cost $ 45 0K. If you want to consider anothe r, #2 PRIME AURORA (9/2) was eye - catching in her debut at Gulfstream, but tha t South Florida form doesn t always hold up elsewhere. R 10 : $ 1 50K Saranac for 3YOs going 8. 5 - furlongs on the Mellon T urf Course #4 TEDDY S ROCKET (8/ 1) looks like tremendous value in here , and he should be a great key horse at the m orning - line price . He won his debut going a mile on turf at first asking not an easy thing to do. He ran an excellent fourth in the high - qual ity Summer (G1) at Woodbine to close out his juvenile year. Hi s comebac ker might look bad on paper, but he had a horrible start and lost all chance to close into a glacial early pace. All that said, I also l ike #7 GLAVINE ( 4 /1) , who ran a very good fourth in the Pennine Ridge (G3) o ver this course, despite a bad start, a wide trip, and zero pace to close into. R1 1 : $ 45K optional - claiming/ starter - allowance for Fillies going 8. 5 F on the Inner Turf This is a tough race to end the day because it s a pretty evenly matched group. That said, #2 SPYING (10/1) appears to be good value as a horse who is s itting on a peak effort. She show ed late interest two back at Churchill , and I think she ll have something to run at today. I know she s winles s on turf, but her grass form is sneaky. # 2 DIVIDEND RECAP (2/1) deserves another chance after faltering at this level last time at even - money when racing against several of these. In her defense, she had a horrible start and still managed to run on late despite a very speed - fav oring turf course that day. She s the most lik ely winner. The #4 winked at me - a lock! Race 7 - 3 - Mark is Great - duh! FRANK S MA TRIX FOR DTL P AID MEMBERS ONL Y Here are select MA TRIX notes for today s Sunday Double T rouble Live show , starting at 4:00 p.m./PDT and covering R6-R10 at Emerald Downs and featuring their 12 PERCENT LOW -T AKEOUT Rolling P3s. The show will cover the last three P3s, so R6/R7/R8 + R7/R8/R9 + R8/R9/R10, but paid subscribers get access to Frank s select notes and letter-grade MA TRICES to all three P3s. Race 6: $50K Budweiser Stakes contested at 6F on the main track No knocks on the half-siblings and most obvious choices, #6 SI THA T TIGER (7/5) and #4 SLEW S TIZ WHIZ (3/1) , but the value of the race is the new face in the crowd and former SoCal stalwart #3 BALADI (5/1) . This horse crushed in his Emerald Downs debut, and he has races on the SoCal circuit that could really scare the locals. Race 7: $50K Hastings Stakes for fillies and mares going 6F on the main track #3 ALOHA BREEZE (6/5) is a fantastic race mare, and she s going to be tough, but this speedster is going to face some early heat today , and she really hasn t been tested pace-wise in a while. #5 SHARP RIDE (6/1) knows how to stalk if you look at her SoCal form, and her last two races since leaving SoCal show that this 6-year-old mare still likes to compete. She seems like great value. #7 PRECISE TIMING (4/1) should get the best trip of all, tracking in the clear as a few ding-dong up front. She wasn t disgraced in a Grade 3 on turf at Santa Anita, so this 4-year-old has plenty of upside. I currently have her as a B, but don t be surprised if I pivot during Double T rouble Live and upgrade her (after seeing how the track is playing and if she s taking sneaky money). Race 8: $50K Auburn for 3-year-old colt & geldings going 6F on the main track This seems like a two horse race between #5 OLE S SURPRISE (3/1) and #7 ROBIN RACER (9/5), so most of my action will go through these two. The only one I can see pulling of f an upset is #8 CANTCA TCHTHISCA T (10/1) , who has stakes form as a 2-year-old and seems to be racing into shape and who will appreciate more ground. MA TRIX P3 R6/R7/R8 ------ R9: $50K Seattle Stakes for 3-year-old fillies going 6F on the main track I ve always liked #2 T OO SASSY (9/5) , so I wouldn t fault anyone for singling her here because she is by far the classiest of the group. My concern is the extra half-furlong (her best work has been at 5.5F and shorter), and her short price. #5 SOUTH BA Y (20/1) was facing much tougher animals on turf at Santa Anita, so it was surprising that she took little action last time against a few of these last time. She was hard-ridden early and never looked like a winner , but she tried hard and she galloped out best after the wire. She will appreciate extra ground. Sneaky!!! #1 BEWITCHING JOY (7/2) has juvenile stakes form, and she likely needed her race last time when grinding away and finishing up nicely in defeat against today s favorite. An extra half-furlong will benefit her too. MA TRIX P3 R7/R8/R9 ------ R10: $10K maiden-claimer for fillies & mares going 5.5F on the main track W e close things out with another race where the top-two choices look pretty solid #5 ROXIE S SECRET (5/2) and #4 DOYOU HEAR YOURSELF (3/1) with one on the engine and the other coming from of f the pace. The sneaky one is #6 SPICY ROSSO (8/1) , who makes her first start on this circuit for a trainer who wins a lot of races. She s a 4-year-old against a bunch of sophomores; she has license to improve with class relief today; and she gets a 5-pound weight-break. MA TRIX P3 R8/R9/R10 [END] FRANK S MA TRIX FOR DTL P AID MEMBERS ONL Y Here are select MA TRIX notes for today s Sunday Double T rouble Live show , starting at 4:00 p.m./PDT and covering R6-R10 at Emerald Downs and featuring their 12 PERCENT LOW -T AKEOUT Rolling P3s.
